According to Barack Obama...

Barack Obama has strongly criticized the Supreme Court decision to cancel restrictions on the financial participation of corporations in the federal election campaigns.

"This is a real blow to democracy", - said today the U.S. president in his weekly compellation to the nation, reports Reuters.

According to Barack Obama, "the court's decision would create an uncontrolled influx of foreign interests involved in the money in American democracy." "The lobbyists dubious initiatives will include new instruments with which they can spend millions on advertising and persuading elected officials to act in their interests and punish those who refuse" - the President said.

Recall, 21 January 2010. U.S. Supreme Court decided to cancel restrictions on independent corporate sponsorship of federal election campaigns that were in force since 1990.

This decision of the highest judicial organ of the United States means that the corporation will be able to spend money for or against a candidate in presidential elections and congressional elections.
