Health minister of Auckland, Tony Ryall has demanded for a vital report mentioning the unavoidable reasons as to why the safety of the patients was ignored and no serious action was taken within one year against Dr. Ratilal Magan Ranchhod. It has come to the notice of the health minister that the Media Council delayed to cancel the practicing certificate of the Auckland Doctor even after receiving formal complaints about him.

The complaints against the Doctor started to lodge in the month of May 2006, and the commissioner told the Medical council to conduct an investigation against him as the number of complaints rose up to 11 in the same month. After May, another complaint was made in the month of October.

In April 2007, Dr. Ranchhod was examined by the Medical Council and charges were established against him for not performing up to the standard of a doctor in general practice. The Council assessed, that he developed communication skills much below what was expected by a doctor and recommended Dr. Ranchhod to undergo retraining at the College of General Practitioners'.

It was reported that Dr Ranchhod did not pass the clinical exam in the month of December, 2008. It was not sure whether he still providing his services at East Tamaki Health Care's Manurewa clinic, where he was administered under strict supervision.
