As a child, my grandmother always told me, “never worry about another man’s Blessings.”

Of course as a child, its hard to understand what exactly is being asked of you. These are simple emotions that you are just learning to deal with, not to mention the fact that these type of emotions are uncontrollable and seem to arise from no where.

As a child it’s easy to persuade yourself into believing that everything you have, you got on your own. Or that everything someone else has, belongs to you.

We always want what we can’t have. As children, and adults, its an inevitable feeling that we all will experience someday.

Reflecting back on that, I see how easy it was to envy another person for being so “lucky” or blessed. But now that I’m a little older, and actually pursuing something I consider positive. I’ve noticed its just as easy to be envious now, as it was as a kid.

See, for years I’ve devoted my days to this way of life we call “Hip-Hop.”

And in Hip-Hop, again, I’ve noticed it’s just as easy to be envious now, as it was as a kid.

So, this blog will be dedicated to the new artists, the indie artists, and even some major artists, who still don’t understand the concept of chasing your own blessings.

As an artist who has sat down in the boardrooms with the major exec’s and has done all the “industry” stuff there is to do, I understand how easy it is to see Jay-Z or Lil Wayne on television, and instantly become angry! It’s not that your angry with that particular artist, because he/she hasn’t done anything to you.

But your angry with yourself. Why?

Because of course you see yourself just as good as the artist your watching on TV. Because at night, when you close your eyes, all you see is the bright lights and the big stage. Your heart tells you everyday, this is what you were made for. To entertain.

But at this particular moment, the only thing your entertaining is the thought of being a failure. Believe me, I’ve been there.

Being a very religious person, I knew in my heart, the only person that could save me from being a “failure” was my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.

But I also knew I couldn’t leave the entire burden on him, I had to make the first step. And that first step, is learning to channel your anger.

You cant sit at home and be mad because your not as successful as you dreamed of being. Take that anger and put it towards tearing down those walls of negativity.

There’s nothing wrong with telling yourself, “if Jay-Z can do it, I can do it.”

But understand that Jay-Z or whoever it is you base your success off of, had to go through alot pain and rejection just to be on your TV screen.

True enough, there are people who have skyrocket into success overnight! We all have heard stories of athletes or entertainers who seem as if success knew their address and landed at their doorstep.

But once again, “don’t worry about another man’s Blessings.”

I’m a firm believer in things happening for a reason. If your next door neighbor wins 30 million dollars, doing nothing, true enough your going to question yourself as to what you could’ve done to win that money.

But maybe God wants you to go thru something’s before he gives your 30 million.

Maybe he wants you to appreciate it a little bit more than the person next to you.

Work hard, and wait your turn.
